The "ArcGIS Sentinel-2 Download Tools" are geoprocessing tools which allow the download of data via DHuS (either the SciHub-DHus of ESA or alternatively also the CODE-DE-DHuS) and the integration of the data in the ArcGIS environment: The tool "Search DHuS catalog" facilitates the creation or completion of a local catalog with information over existing Sentinel-2 satellite acquisitions. These include, among others, a quicklook image with low resolution. For the execution of the data download, each satellite acquisition in the local catalog can be marked and the tool "Download Marked packages" can be started which provides further options for the control of the download.

The Sentinel App is a gateway to knowing the Sentinel satellites. It lets users track the satellites in real-time, discover their key elements, read the latest news and learn more about their products. Users can, among other things, explore detailed 3D models of the satellites, see the last and next time they have been and will be over the user's location, move the satellites to the time of the last data transmission and smoothly move them back to their current location over the 3D globe. Notifications can also be set to be warned when the satellites are flying by. ESA is developing a series of next-generation Earth observation missions, on behalf of the joint ESA/European Commission initiative Copernicus (previously GMES - Global Monitoring for Environment and Security). The goal of the program is to replace current and older Earth observation missions, such as ERS and Envisat, which have reached or are close to reaching the end of their operational life span. This will ensure a continuity of data so that there are no gaps in ongoing studies. Each mission will focus on a different aspect of Earth observation, such as Atmospheric, Oceanic or Land monitoring, and the data will be of use in many applications. This package implements the Fmask algorithm as a Python module. It is intended that this can be wrapped in a variety of main programs which can handle the local details of how the image files are named and organised, and is intended to provide maximum flexibility. GDAL is a translator library for raster and vector geospatial data formats that is released under an X/MIT style Open Source license by the Open Source Geospatial Foundation.

As a library, it presents a single raster abstract data model and single vector abstract data model to the calling application for all supported formats. It also comes with a variety of useful command line utilities for data translation and processing. Projections and transformations are supported by the PROJ.4 library. The related OGR library (OGR Simple Features Library), which is part of the GDAL source tree, provides a similar ability for simple features vector graphics data.

GMT is an open source collection of about 80 command-line tools for manipulating geographic and Cartesian data sets (including filtering, trend fitting, gridding, projecting, etc.) and producing PostScript illustrations ranging from simple x–y plots via contour maps to artificially illuminated surfaces and 3D perspective views; the GMT supplements add another 40 more specialized and discipline-specific tools. Orfeo ToolBox (OTB) is an open-source project for state-of-the-art remote sensing. Built on the shoulders of the open-source geospatial community, it can process high resolution optical, multispectral and radar images at the terabyte scale. All of OTB’s algorithms are accessible from Monteverdi, QGIS, Python, the command line or C++. Monteverdi is an easy to use visualization tool with an emphasis on hardware accelerated rendering for high resolution imagery (optical and SAR). With it, end-users can visualize huge raw imagery products and access all of the applications in the toolbox. The Polarimetric SAR Data Processing and Educational Tool (PolSARpro)

The Polarimetric SAR Data Processing and Educational Tool aims to facilitate the accessibility and exploitation of multi-polarised SAR datasets including those from ESA (Envisat ASAR Alternating Polarisation mode products and Sentinel-1) and Third Party Missions (ALOS-1 PALSAR, ALOS-2 PALSAR, COSMO-SkyMed, RADARSAT-2, RISAT, TerraSAR-X and Tandem-X). A wide-range of tutorials and comprehensive documentation provide a grounding in polarimetry and polarimetric interferometry necessary to stimulate research and development of scientific applications that utilise such techniques; the toolbox of processing functions offers users the capability to implement them.

Sen2Cor is a processor for Sentinel-2 Level 2A product generation and formatting.

The processor performs the atmospheric-, terrain and cirrus correction of Top-Of-Atmosphere Level 1C input data. Sen2Cor creates Bottom-Of-Atmosphere, optionally terrain- and cirrus corrected reflectance images; additional, Aerosol Optical Thickness-, Water Vapor-, Scene Classification Maps and Quality Indicators for cloud and snow probabilities. Its output product format is equivalent to the Level 1C User Product: JPEG 2000 images, three different resolutions, 60, 20 and 10 m.

Sen2Three is a level 3 processor for the Spatio-Temporal Synthesis of bottom of atmosphere corrected Sentinel-2 level 2a images, as they are generated by the Sen2Cor application.

Sen2Three takes time series of level 2a images of certain geographical areas (tiles) as input and generates a synthetic output image by replacing step by step all “bad” pixels of previous input images with the collocated “good” pixels of scenes following in time.

Sentinel 2 Radiometric Uncertainty Tool (S2-RUT)

NPL, in collaboration with Brockmann Consult, has delivered the first version of the Radiometric Uncertainty Tool (RUT) for the Sentinel-2 mission. This innovative tool provides uncertainty images associated to the Top-of-Atmosphere reflectance images delivered by the European Space Agency (ESA). The first version of the tool already incorporates the possibility to define a specific coverage factor and select/deselect the contributors through the user interface. The uncertainty estimates are based in an exhaustive radiometric analysis of both the instrument and radiometric processing chain of the Sentinel-2 mission. The combination model is based on the GUM guidelines.

TIMESAT is a software package for analysing time-series of satellite sensor data.

TIMESAT has been developed to investigate the seasonality of satellite time-series data and their relationship with dynamic properties of vegetation, such as phenology and temporal development. The temporal domain holds important information about short- and long-term vegetation changes. TIMESAT was originally intended for handling noisy time-series of AVHRR NDVI data and to extract seasonality information from the data. The program now has the capability to handle different types of remotely sensed time-series , e.g. data from Terra/MODIS at different time resolutions. It has also been tested with eddy covariance data and moisture data, although these applications are not the main target.
